The pottery room at Torro is a space to slow down, explore, and create with clay.
Whether you're discovering ceramics for the first time or returning to an established practice, you'll find everything you need in one welcoming environment. From wheel throwing and hand-building to glazing and firing, every stage of the ceramic process takes place under one roof.
Filled with natural light, thoughtfully designed workstations, and professional tools, the studio invites you to immerse yourself in the tactile experience of making. Here, the focus extends beyond technique. It's about being present, embracing the creative process, and allowing each piece to evolve at its own pace.

I’ve never done pottery before, can I still book a class?
Absolutely. Our classes are designed for all levels, including complete beginners. Our instructors guide you through each step of the process in a relaxed and welcoming studio environment. No prior experience is needed.

Which materials are included?
All materials needed for your class are included in the price, along with a set number of finished pieces depending on the workshop. There are no additional fees when you collect your creations; our one-price policy means everything is included from start to finish.
After your class, our team will professionally trim, glaze, and double-fire your pieces. Your finished creations will be ready for collection in approximately 4 weeks, and we'll notify you by email as soon as they're ready.

Can I glaze my piece myself?
If you'd like to glaze your own creations, you're welcome to join one of our glazing sessions, held every two weeks at the studio. These sessions give you the opportunity to personalise your pieces before they're fired. You can find the upcoming glazing sessions in our schedule.

What should I wear for my class?
You can wear anything you feel comfortable in. Aprons are provided for all classes, and clay washes out easily in the washing machine if it gets on your clothing.

What happens if I miss my class?
Classes are non-refundable in case of no-show or cancellations made less than 2 days in advance. If you notify us at least 48 hours before your session, we can assist you with rescheduling subject to availability.

Nik guides students through the full journey of working on the pottery wheel, from centering and opening to pulling, shaping, and trimming. With a calm and thoughtful teaching approach, he encourages you to embrace mistakes as part of the creative process, helping build both technique and confidence along the way. His classes go beyond learning the craft itself, inviting you into the meditative rhythm and presence that pottery can offer. You’ll find Nik in the Pottery Room, ready to welcome you into the practice.

With years of experience working with clay and within the world of visual production, she shares both technical knowledge and a deeply intuitive approach to making. Her classes are rooted in experimentation, craftsmanship, and the joy of creating by hand.
