SENSE
SENSE explores our relationship with the body.
The way we inhabit it. The way we perceive it.
The way we make sense of it.
In a world increasingly shaped by screens, images and information, the project questions what common sense means when so much of our experience is mediated outside of ourselves.
Before thought, there is sensation:
the weight of a body, the tension of a gesture,
the feeling of skin, movement and space.
Through fragments, angles and distorted perspectives, the body becomes at once unfamiliar and deeply human. Shapes appear almost abstract, yet remain recognisable through something more instinctive than sight; a physical sense of familiarity.
SENSE is an invitation to look beyond recognition and return to the body as a place of feeling, perception and knowing.
About the artist
Albane is a photographer and multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the relationship between the body, perception and the world around us. With a background in photography and production, she brings a thoughtful and intuitive approach to image-making, drawing on her experience behind the camera to explore how images shape the way we see and understand. SENSE is a project that has lived in her mind for the past ten years, gradually taking shape through her ongoing curiosity about the body and the way we experience it. Through fragments, angles and distorted perspectives, she invites us to look beyond what we recognise and reconnect with the body as a place of sensation, feeling and knowing.
