Discover the art of handbuilding with clay in this beginner-friendly coiling workshop at Torro Studio in Zurich. This class focuses on creating unique ceramic mugs using the traditional coiling technique, perfect for those who enjoy a more tactile and expressive approach to pottery. During the session, you will learn how to roll, shape, and stack coils to build your own mug from scratch. You’ll be guided through the full process, including forming balanced shapes, refining surfaces, and attaching handles. Special attention is given to structure, design, and proper drying to ensure your pieces are both functional and durable. With step-by-step guidance, you’ll create a personalized mug set that reflects your style.

No prior experience needed.
Whether you plan to continue with our membership in the studio or pursue more advanced ceramics, this workshop equips you with the skills to confidently bring your own designs to life.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll have your own unique mug, which we will carefully dry, glaze with a transparent finish, and kiln-fire in our studio. Your finished ceramic will be ready for collection in approximately 4–5 weeks.
