Get a feel for the pottery wheel in this focused session dedicated to throwing your own ceramic plate. Ideal for intermediates, this class introduces the core techniques of shaping clay on the wheel, with guidance at every step to create a flat or curved plate. You’ll learn how to control form and thickness while creating a balanced, functional piece. Expect a hands-on, slightly messy, and highly rewarding experience as you bring your plate to life from a simple lump of clay.
Included:
- Clay and materials for 2 different plates
- Use of wheel, tools, and equipment
- Transparent glaze and firing
At the end of the session, your piece will be trimmed (if needed), then carefully dried, glazed with a transparent finish, and kiln-fired in our studio. Your finished plate will be ready for collection in approximately 4–5 weeks. You can also book an additional glazing session to personalize your piece with a color of your choice.
Participants: Maximum 6 participants.
We believe in the power of small groups to learn and enjoy your class.
Course runs with a minimum of 2 participants.
